Guest Terms & Conditions
Effective 17 July 2026
1About These Terms
“The Boombox” is a premium Old-School R&B and Hip-Hop event run by DTF AU Pty Ltd (ACN 679 131 358) trading as The Boombox AU (“The Boombox”, “we”, “us”). These terms apply to every VIP table booking, ticket purchase and entry to a Boombox event. By booking a table, buying a ticket or paying a deposit you agree to these terms.
The Boombox is a travelling event hosted at partner venues. All alcohol at an event is sold and served by the host venue under its own liquor licence and responsible service of alcohol (RSA) obligations — The Boombox does not sell or serve alcohol. The host venue’s house rules, dress code and entry conditions apply alongside these terms.
2VIP Packages — What’s Included
Each VIP package includes the number of bottles stated for that package on the current event deck — for each bottle slot, you choose one bottle from that slot’s included list. Every package includes VIP entry for up to the stated number of guests, your choice of included bottles, unlimited mixers, a Red Bull round, a dedicated VIP waitress and bottle presentation. Package contents, prices, bottle counts and bottle lists are as published for each event and may vary by venue.
3Prices & Payment
- Each package has a pre-book price and a higher on-the-night (walk-up) price. Pre-booking locks the lower price.
- All prices are in Australian dollars and inclusive of GST. Bottle and menu prices include a 10% service charge, which supports the VIP service team.
- To secure a pre-booked table you pay a fixed booking deposit, published for each package on the current event deck. The deposit is per table, not per guest — it does not change with the size of your party — and is credited against your package price on the night. The balance of your package is payable at the venue on the night.
- Walk-up tables (subject to availability) are payable in full on the night at the on-the-night price.
4Deposits, Cancellations & Reschedules
- Deposits are non-refundable. They secure your table, your booth assignment and your included bottles for that specific event night.
- If you give us at least 7 days’ notice before the event, you may reschedule your booking once to a future Boombox event within 3 months, subject to availability. With less than 7 days’ notice, and for cancellations or no-shows, your deposit is forfeited.
- Packages and prices vary by venue. If you reschedule to an event at a different venue, that event’s packages, bottle lists and prices apply — your deposit transfers at its dollar value, and any difference in the package price or entry component is payable by you (or credited to your night) accordingly.
- If we cancel or materially change an event (see section 11), your deposit will be transferred to the rescheduled event or refunded in full — your choice.
5Arrival & Table Release
Tables are ready from doors open at 9:30pm. Please arrive (or have the first of your party arrive) by 11:00pm — after that we may release your booth to other guests and your deposit is forfeited, unless you have arranged a late arrival with us in advance.
6Guests & Extra Guests
- Your package includes VIP entry for up to its stated number of guests (e.g. Classic 6, The Boombox 10, Golden Era 15).
- Extra guests joining a VIP table are charged that table’s per-head VIP entry rate (not the general-admission door price), payable on the night, and are subject to booth capacity and venue approval.
- All guests must meet entry conditions (section 9). One booth equals one booking — we sell the package, not a specific table, and booth assignment is managed by us on the night.
7Bottle Upgrades & Swaps
- Upgrades stay within your package’s list. Each bottle slot has an included list plus upgrade options at a set fee. Where the upgrade price isn’t published for your package, we’ll confirm it when you pre-book or through your host on the night; any upgrade is added to your bottle bill.
- Wanting a bottle from a higher package’s list isn’t an upgrade — it’s an upgrade of your whole package to that tier (price difference applies), subject to availability.
- Downward swaps are fine: you can always choose a less expensive bottle than your included options — no charge, but no refund of the difference.
- Single large-format swap (The Boombox package only): you may swap your two included bottles for one 1.75L large-format bottle at the same package price. You give up the second bottle slot (no refund) and can’t keep a second bottle as well. If you want a large format and a spirit, that’s a Golden Era package.
- All bottle service is subject to RSA — service may be slowed or stopped for any guest or table at the venue’s discretion (section 9), with no refund for service declined on RSA grounds.
8General Admission
General admission (GA) entry is charged at the door price for each event, subject to capacity. The door price may be higher than any advertised or pre-sale price, and may increase during the night at our discretion; the price payable is the price shown at the door when you enter. Entry is not guaranteed once the venue is at capacity, even with earlier entry the same night. GA guests who take a VIP table on the night are credited their door entry against the package’s entry component — entry is never charged twice.
Pre-purchased GA tickets. GA tickets bought in advance are valid for that event night only and are not refundable if you change your mind, but you may transfer your ticket to another person. Pre-purchased ticket holders receive priority entry over walk-up guests if they arrive by 12:00am; if you arrive by 12:00am and we are unable to admit you due to capacity, your ticket will be refunded in full. After 12:00am entry is subject to venue capacity and no refund applies. If we cancel the event or move it to a different date or venue, your ticket will be transferred or refunded in full at your choice. No refund is given where entry is refused or a guest is removed on RSA, ID, conduct or dress-code grounds (sections 9 and 10). Nothing in this section limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
9Entry, ID & Responsible Service
- Boombox events are strictly 18+. Valid photo ID (Australian driver licence, passport, or proof-of-age card) is required for entry and may be re-checked at any time.
- Entry may be refused, and guests may be removed, on RSA, safety, capacity, dress-code or conduct grounds by venue security or management. Their decision is final.
- Intoxicated guests will be refused entry or service in accordance with RSA law. No refunds are given where a guest is refused entry or removed for intoxication, conduct or breach of these terms or venue rules.
10Behaviour & Dress
The Boombox is a premium night — dress to impress (smart evening wear; the event’s dress code applies). We have zero tolerance for aggression, harassment, racism or discrimination of any kind, or illicit substances. Guests are responsible for their own belongings and for any damage they cause to the venue or its property.
11If We Change Or Cancel An Event
Line-ups, DJs and performers may change without notice — a change of artist is not a cancellation. If an event is cancelled or moved to a different date or venue, we will notify all affected guests — both VIP bookers and ticket holders — using the contact details on your booking (such as SMS or email), and we will also post a public announcement on our official social media channels. Your deposit or ticket will be transferred or refunded in full, at your choice (for pre-purchased tickets, see also section 8). To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for other costs you may have incurred (such as travel or accommodation).
12Photography & Filming
Professional photography and videography take place at Boombox events, and reasonable use of guest images in event content and marketing is a condition of entry. If you don’t want to be captured, tell our photographer or videographer on the night and we will take reasonable steps to accommodate you. Please note that once images or video have been published to social media or included in an active advertising campaign, we may be unable to remove or recall them.
13Liability & Your Consumer Rights
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee or right you have under the Australian Consumer Law. Subject to that, and to the extent permitted by law, The Boombox’s liability in connection with an event is limited to the amount you paid us, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Alcohol service, venue safety and premises matters are the responsibility of the host venue as licensee.
14Privacy
We collect and use your personal information (including for SMS and email updates about future events) in accordance with The Boombox Privacy Policy, available on our website and on request. You can opt out of marketing at any time.
15Contact & Governing Law
Questions or booking changes: contact us via our website or socials, or email info@theboombox.au. These terms are governed by the law of New South Wales, Australia.
